About IBA-JU Social Welfare Club (SWC)
Bio
Meaningful human development can occur only when people willingly look after one another. With this belief, the IBA-JU Social Welfare Club was founded in 2009 to assist those in need and instil the values of selfless care in students. Since then, SWC has undertaken a plethora of worthwhile welfare projects.
SWC's Notable Activities Include:
Rana Plaza Rehabilitation Campaign: During the Rana Plaza tragedy, SWC provided necessary aid to the victims of Rana Plaza and created a comprehensive database of all the injured for efficient blood donation. SWC also worked to rehabilitate some of the victims by providing them with shops, rickshaws, and other necessities.
Anondomela Sharabela - a day long event organised in collaboration with IDLC to spread the joy of Pohela Boishakh among the underprivileged children.
Pandemic and Outbreaks
COVID-19 Awareness Campaign: In collaboration with Lifebuoy where SWC distributed 17,000 Lifebuoy pocket hand wash packets among the residents of JU.
Dengue Prevention Campaign: In collaboration with Dabur where SWC distributed 12,000 packets of Odomos to JU residents.
Donations
Project Warmth - a fundraising event that takes place every year to help the cold stricken people of Bangladesh.
Flood Relief Drive: Yearly campaign to help the victims of flood.
